These African Beaded Namji dolls have striking geometric features. Handcrafted in wood and then decorated with beads. Each doll wears a neck scarf and also traditional head covering. They also stand securely on a wooden base.
The intricate detail that goes into making these Namji dolls is really special. Originally from the north-west Cameroon, we were able to source them in Morocco. These unique dolls are all individual and almost appear to have their own personality.
Originating from the Dowayo/Namji ethnic group, these Namji dolls were historically made for the young girls. They would sling the dolls over their back to imitate their own mothers, carrying their babies.
